As seen in Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine
Shannon and Chris exchanged vows in front of 150 of their closest friends and family surrounded by the beauty of nature in their favorite mountain town Vail, Colorado. They wanted to highlight the splendor of the state where their love story began with a Colorado mountain vibe. Nestled along the Gore Creek in the heart of Vail Village guests were greeted to the ceremony with lovely wreaths framing the idyllic Vail Interfaith Chapel. Keeping Chris’s late mother close to his heart throughout the day his boutonniere was wrapped in a teal ribbon to honor her battle with ovarian cancer.
After the ceremony guests made their way through the heart of Vail Village and up the gondola to the top of mid-vail where champagne greeted them on the deck of the 10th , a Vail mountaintop wedding venue and restaurant, overlooking the Gore Range mountains. Noshing on an array of hors d’oevres and Shannon and Chris’s favorite signature cocktails in hand many guests played their favorite game of corn hole on custom boards before heading into the 10th Vail for dinner.
Mountain cookies etched with guests’ names served as both place cards and favors at each place setting. The 10th Vail is well known for the culinary talents of Executive Chef Tim McCaw and Shannon and Chris wanted to incorporate their love of amazing food into their guests experience. In the cozy bar guests could lounge with blankets featuring the University of Colorado’s logo where the couple met and were engaged as they enjoyed the fireplace. Their alma mater even won their big football game on the afternoon of Shannon and Chris’s big day with their college friends erupting into the CU fight song at the bar upon hearing the news.
