Spruce Mountain Ranch
You guys, this wedding was magical. Spruce Mountain Ranch has to be one of my favorite venues ever, and this wedding had so many little details to add the extra special touch. And, I get super happy when I get to shoot a beautiful outdoor wedding that isn’t too far from my home in Colorado Springs, it just makes it that much sweeter! The handmade details like the sweet succulents and paper floral crown were all made from Katey’s sister and bridesmaids. They did such a good job putting it all together and the beautiful florals from Sara Mica Design was the perfect finish! I should also add their dogs, Claire and Olive, were a part of the big day as well!
So first… we need to talk about that dress though. WOW! Danelle’s Bridal outdid themselves with this one especially with all the lace and scalloped tulle layers. Katey’s gown was a perfect mixture of boho, vintage, and class! Which of course was a perfect fit for Katey as she is the sweetest free-spirited bride I’ve yet to meet! I also absolutely LOVED Joe’s formal attire as well! I feel that not every groom needs to dress for a black tie event on their wedding day and Joe is the perfect example of that. Besides their great fashion sense they obviously have great taste in people too. It was obvious how important family was to them and the relationship with all of their wedding guests brought such sweet energy throughout the entire day.
With all of the local wildfire smoke Colorado had been getting we were lucky enough to get some dreamy haze at the end of our portrait time together. Spruce Mountain Ranch is huge and has so many beautiful spots to photograph in, but we found the best spot with all the open space and mountain views! If you ever get a chance to check out Spruce Mountain Ranch it’s definitely a must when you are searching for Colorado wedding venues!
One other really important detail I also wanted to add for my readers to really soak in what this wedding day was like- Buffalo Gals Catering made the BEST freaking mashed potatoes that will ever exist.
Congratulations Katey and Joe (and Olive and Claire), it was such a pleasure to be a part of your special day! I wish you all the happiness in your marriage!
