Wildflower Engagement Session | Colorado Wedding Photographer

I am so happy to share this amazing engagement session I had in Colorado with these two exploring the mountains. Let me tell you, I was one happy photographer running across fields and fields of wildflowers! I was in heaven!!

I asked Billy and Maria to tell us a few things about them. These two are so laid back and goofy with each other and it made it all the more fun!

1) How did Billy propose? As our 1 year anniversary approached on April 30th, 2016, Billy told me he had a surprise planned for me and we were going somewhere really special! After a few hours on the 30th, my anticipation started to grow, I started to wonder where we were going, and what we would be doing to celebrate making a year of dating! To throw me off, Billy then drove around to different places to confuse me, but when I finally asked him to tell me, he explained we would be going to the Cliff House in Manitou Springs. As dinner began Billy’s nerves grew stronger. He then excused himself from the table to use the restaurant. 5 minutes later, our server walked out with a desert and “Will you Marry me” around the edge. Billy came out immediately after, came with amazing big balloons and got down on one knee. He asked if I would marry him. Immediately I was so shocked profanities exited my lips in shock, and I said YES!

2) What is your favorite thing about each other?

Maria: His silly demeanor and sacrificial love for others.

Billy: Her big heart and passion

3) How did you meet?

Billy and I met at a pool party in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was there celebrating a year finished in grad school, and he was celebrating with friends for his birthday. He approached me in the pool, explained me he would be stationed to colorado in 9 months. We then stayed good friends for over the next year and then he moved here over a year ago to stay.

4) What did you love about your engagement session?

We felt comfortable to be ourselves and have fun. At first we were a bit awkward, but Melissa was so fun and helped us feel at ease. We then lightened up and were laughing the entire time.
